Dr. Lauren Mathot, PT, DPT, CBIS Founder/Operator
Lauren Mathot, D.P.T., is a physical therapist and founder of Compass Physical Therapy. With a personal mission to work with patients and caregivers through individualized care plans that optimize patient outcomes, Lauren saw a need for a functional space that would allow individuals with medical conditions and disabilities to thrive. In February 2023, she left the long-term-care field to pursue her lifelong dream of creating a practice where individuals from all walks of life feel comfortable and empowered to achieve and maintain an active lifestyle, regardless of impairments and disabilities.
Compass Physical Therapy provides a fluid environment where clients receive individualized care to prevent injury, restore function, and optimize performance. Lauren uses research-based interventions to assist patients with preventing functional decline, restoring function and mobility, maintaining daily regimens, and accessing services in a like-bodied community. Whether you are looking for 1:1 physical therapy or a group wellness class, Lauren will encourage you to set goals and exceed them.
Dr. Mathot is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) with a passion for treating complex neurological disorders beyond the walls of traditional therapy institutions and interventions. After earning her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Dayton in 2004, Lauren earned a doctorate in physical therapy (D.P.T., 2007) from Ohio University. When she found her passion in treating patients with brain injuries, she continued her education and gained certification as a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (2010). In 2022, she also completed extensive coursework in dry needling for the management of myofascial dysfunction.
Lauren started her career at Miami Valley Hospital in 2007, where she focused on acute care management in a wide variety of medical conditions involving neurological, orthopedic, generalized medical, and post-surgical disorders. She then went on to pursue her career as the Director of Rehabilitation for the Carespring Corporation (2010–2015) and subsequently HCR-Manorcare-Promedica in Miamisburg, OH (2015–2023).
